You get what you pay for! Rating:1 out of 5 stars I thought at $79.99 this was a good deal. Buyer beware. The picture quality is less than DVD quality. The color is washed out. It DOES NOT handle SDHC cards. This was the main reason I chose this item. It did manage to play pictures from my 128mb SD card, however the color quality was terrible. I cannot imagine paying full price ($149.99) for this DVD player. My advice – shop around for a different model.
Love using it! Rating:5 out of 5 stars This is a really nice product! I push a button, a cover pops up, I insert a dvd and hit play. The sound and color intensity buttons are on the side as is the on-off button. I put it on my stomach (lying down on the couch) and watch. The sound is okay but could be a tad louder. But it works. And the image quality is fine. And I am really really really happy with it. In terms of sound and image quality, it is far better than my laptop. And it doesn’t heat up and is lightweight.
There is a button on the back which you move if you want to attach it to a large screen like a tv I believe. Anyway if that moves, there is no image on the Axion screen. That happened once. Easy, just flip the switch.
I love it. Recommend it. Sorta like having your cake and eating it too. Got it though Amazon at a great price.
Nice player at a bargain price for what you get Rating:5 out of 5 stars We were taking around a 2,000 mile trip and wanted to buy a player before we left. I chose the Axion. This turned out to be a great decision. I read other reviews and they were overall good. The sound quality on ours is very good so I am not sure why others had issue with it. We had to turn it down. Maybe they have loud vehicles and can’t hear it or have the windows down. Who knows. Inside the house we have to keep the volume down. The picture is great but you will want to use it on the darkest setting as the brighter settings are too washed out. I think the darker you make the screen, the faster the batteries are used up. This doesn’t matter to use as we use the car charger and a/c plug when we are at home. So just keep this in mind. It is probably the same way with every player.
The memory card slot was the big thing for us. It worked great.
We also bought a mount that fit between the headrests. We got it at Best Buy. It was perfect. I would have bought it on Amazon if I had of known about it. It is something I just found by accident when I was at Best Buy.
The player is really great and worked flawlessly on the trip. I would recommend it to anyone.

He is a bit younger than his brothers and sisters so he gets bumped off of the tv quite a bit and doesn’t get to watch his younger shows. I thought this would be great for that.
He sat down to watch it on Christmas and it froze halfway through the movie. We had to turn it off. We tried again the next day with a different dvd and it did the exact same thing. It has to be returned, disappointing.
Axion Portable DVD Player Rating:3 out of 5 stars Fast shipping. This was a good product for the sale price at Christmas time. There was a little wabble where the screen attaches to the actual player that didn’t feel sturdy. I’d recommend this for older kids for sure though. We took it on a road trip a few days after Christmas. my 10yr. old dropped it from her lap to the floor of the van and it no longer worked. I know it was our fault for dropping it, but we have 8 kids, so we have a couple of other portables that have been dropped a few times and still work great.
